The Senator representing Kaduna Central on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Upper Legislative Chamber, Comrade Shehu Sani, has expressed fears that the ongoing hardship being experienced by Nigerians, might result to its citizens revolting against President Muhammadu Buhari, soon.
The Senator, who made this known in Abuja during the weekend, said the current economic recession, might end up being the ignition Nigerians had been waiting for over the years, to fight their leaders.
In a bid to advert the impending crisis, Senator Sani, advised that the current hardship be immediately handled by those in positions of authority, especially the Federal Government, warning that violation of the advice, could result in unpredictable circumstances.
Based on his submission, the revolution would not only be against the current administration, but also those who held sway in the past.
According to him, bad governance had cost the country over $3 trillion of oil monies in frivolities, within the last 56 years by successive governments.
According to him also, the only way to overcome this present challenges, is for the President to extend the scope of his anti-corruption war, beyond the last administration, to others before it, with the sole purpose of recovering the nation’s funds and resources, stolen by corrupt-minded past administrators.
He said: “We are in recession, but the recession must be tackled headlong by the Federal Government and all stakeholders in the polity, towards getting out of it very quickly or else, it may lead to revolution.
“The 2015 election supposed to have ushered us into a new hope of unity and progress.
“But there are a lot of mistakes that have been made in the last one year.
“One of the corrections, is the need for us to look forward, in terms of bringing our people to the Promised Land, and not look backwards, on crisis we faced in the past,” Sani said.
